Commercial deep water diving evolving on commercial lines in Kerala

KOCHI - Deep water diving is becoming a business opportunity with added handsome perks for water sports lovers in Kerala.

The adventure sport has recently become a promising field for youngsters seeking jobs in Gulf and other countries.

Lakshadweep Islands, Kerala, Goa, Maharashtra and Gujarat are the states where diving centres are tapping the market demand by training adventure sport lovers.

Interdive in Kochi, is one such diving and swimming centre run by Wilfred C. Manuel and his brothers.

“Now, there is a lot of demand of youngsters seeking employment in Gulf, South Africa and Spain where my trained students are drawing a handsome salary,” said Manuel.

Students get training and hands on experience underwater using specialised equipments in such training centres.

“After finishing this course, I am going to Gulf. I have already sent my resume to the companies there. Hopefully, I will take up a job of a commercial diver there,” said Gaurav Sharma, a student from Punjab. (ANI)
