NEW DELHI - Pakistan High Commissioner Shahid Malik met Home Minister P Chidambaram here on Wednesday days ahead of the scheduled meeting of Home Ministers of SAARC countries in Islamabad.

Talking to reporters, Malik said: “It was a routine meeting. As you know, the Home Minister is travelling for the SAARC Home Ministers meeting. I just came to talk to him about that.”

Malik was accompanied by his deputy Riffat Massod.

Chidambaram is scheduled to visit Islamabad on June 26.

Chidambaram is likely to press Islamabad for action on the list of 40-odd terrorists and criminals wanted by India since 2000, but who, as per intelligence reports, continue to enjoy a safe sanctuary in Pakistan.

Chidambaram will also draw the Pakistani leadership’s attention to the up-and-running terror infrastructure on its soil, particularly the training camps operating out of PoK, and demand that it be dismantled. (ANI)
