Over 400 kilograms of explosives seized in West Bengal

MALDA - The West Bengal Police on Thursday recovered at least 17 bags filled with explosive powder, each weighing around 25 kilograms.
The Malda and Murshidabad police seized the explosives jointly in the early hours of Thursday in Chowringee of Malda district.
The explosives comprised of potassium nitrate, sulphur dioxide, iron powder and sora.
Deputy Superintendent of Malda police, Avijit Basu, said that further raids are being conducted.
“We are still conducting raids and can’t say anything in defence. I informed the higher officials. They must be having the information. We don’t have any details,” said Basu.
The police arrested Chanratan Daga and Bikram Daga along with the seized explosives powder.
They are being interrogated in Murshidabad. (ANI)
