NEW DELHI - Union Cabinet on Thursday approved the Planning Commission’s proposal to place before the National Development Council the mid-term appraisal of the document of the 11th five year plan.
The Mid Term Appraisal is a report card on the achievements midway during the Eleventh Five Year Plan period.
The appraisal gives an idea of how far the Government has been able to meet the stated objective of faster and more inclusive growth.
The appraisal provides an in-depth analysis of Central Government schemes pushing the inclusive growth agenda.
It also brings out deficiencies in the implementation of these schemes and the need for their rectification.
It gives an account of the manner in which the Indian economy has been able to weather the global financial crisis and would be able to return to a high growth path by the end of the Plan period. (ANI)
