One killed, two injured as wall collapses in Mumbai

MUMBAI - An eight-year-old girl was killed and two others were injured, when a wall collapsed at Antop Hill in Mumbai on Tuesday.
The three were rushed to Lokmanya Tilak Hospital, where eight-year-old Nandini Chinnapa was declared brought dead.
“The children and the women were going to the toilet and suddenly a wall collapsed on them. All three were taken to the hospital. One girl died on way to the hospital,” said Ramesh, a local.
33-year old Jaya Krishnathan Devendra and 12 -year-old Reema, who sustained head and hip injuries are being treated at the Lokmanya Tilak Hospital.
Mumbai Mayor Shraddha Jadhav later visited the spot to assess the situation.
“Three were injured. Two are small girls and their mother. They have been taken to the hospital. One died on way to the hospital. Only after the doctor’s report comes out we will get to know the severity of the injuries sustained by the people,” said Shraddha Jadhav.
She assured Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will take care of the other hilly areas in the near future avoid any untoward incident. (ANI)
