Yasin Malik observes hunger strike in protest against fake encounter in Kashmir

NADIHAL - Chief of Jammu And Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Yasin Malik observed a daylong hunger strike at Nadihal village in Kashmir Valley on Thursday as a mark of protest against fake encounter in which the Indian Army is believed to have killed three innocent civilians.

“The objective of this hunger strike was to highlight this issue for the world to realise the scenario in Kashmir valley, Malik said.

“There is only one message for this hunger strike, which is for the concerned community and the rights of working class of such communities. We hope that the team of Amnesty International which recently visited will discuss the matter with the Government of India on priority basis and will also discuss the matter with the embassies and even the people of the civil society will take care of this thing and the people working for human rights will also discuss this matter with the help of defence ministry on SOS basis,” he added.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police have filed a case of abduction and murder against a few security personnel for an encounter in which three people were killed on April 30.

Security forces had claimed that they had killed three infiltrators and recovered five AK47 rifles, ammunition and Pakistani currency from them in the Machali sector.

According to reports, the Jammu and Kashmir Police found that the men killed by the security forces were actually innocent civilians, who were reported missing from a village in Baramulla District. (ANI)
