KUALA LUMPUR - Tamil schools in Malaysian estates are facing a crisis with many on the verge of closure due to low enrolment rates.
While Tamil schools are flourishing in the cities, they are floundering in the rural areas.
Ulu Kinta Teacher’s Training College lecturer S. Sanmugavelu urged Indian organisations to come forward and help Tamil schools overcome these problems, The Star reports.
He said MIC must take the necessary action to ensure the continued existence of the 547 Tamil schools throughout the country. (ANI)
