Thirteen hardcore militants surrender in Manipur

IMPHAL - At least thirteen hardcore militants, belonging to the banned outfit Zou People’s Army (ZPA), surrendered in Imphal.

The militants including its founder leader and a women cadre, surrendered with arms and ammunition to the state Director General of Police (DGP) on Sunday.

The weapons included AK assault rifles with ammunition, three pistols, a revolver, two wireless radio sets and some quantity of explosive.

“We managed to convince the family members of the militants. They actually showed to them that a lot of good thing is happening a lot of developmental work has taken place. We managed to get the family members across the order and convince them to bring them back,” said Major General C A Krishnan.

“It has taken a lot of time but it is worth it. The almost entire group has come over based in Shivalik valley. We will give them all possible help to settle to lead a normal life and bring them back into main stream,” he added. (ANI)
