LAHORE - Eight people died in fresh attacks on a hospital in Pakistan as militants dressed in police uniforms sought to free injured attackers responsible for Friday’s assault on two Ahmedi mosques.

The gunmen even succeeded in seizing hostages briefly but were thwarted by security forces, The Times reports.

The police are in pursuit of a suspect who was injured in the exchange of fire between the militants and security forces.

“They escaped from the scene,” Lahore Police Commissioner Khusro Pervez Khan said.

“We are in hot pursuit. We are chasing them. One of them was wounded,” he added. (ANI)
