KUALA LUMPUR - More than 3000 Malaysians set a new record by assembling to drink milk together in the country’s ‘Largest Milk Drinking Event.’

As part of Dutch Lady Malaysia’s ‘Spread the Goodness of Milk’ campaign, the event at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur marked World Milk Day 2010.

The Malaysian Book of Records recognized the feat.

Dutch Lady Milk Industries Berhad managing director Bas van den Berg said the event was aimed to draw attention to low consumption of milk in the country.

“Malaysians only consume 30 litres of milk a year, which is 70% less than other countries,” the Star Online quoted him, as saying.

The company’s marketing manager Sharon Tan said the company was preparing for a nationwide survey of 4,800 children on nutrition deficiency in children aged one to 12.

Tan said: “From the findings, we will look into reformulating our milk.” (ANI)
