NEW DELHI - The Army Tribunal is likely to take up the hearing of the 30-year-old Samba spy case on Monday.
Two Army officers-Captain Rana and Captain Rathore are hoping that justice will be done 30 years after they were falsely implicated as Pakistan spies.
Captain Rathore and Captain Rana are the two main accused in the Samba Spy scandal of 1979-80.
The two were implicated based on testimonies of Gunners Sarwan Das and Aya Singh.
They were arrested and charged for spying for the Pakistani Army.
The cases against Captain Rathore and Captain Rana were reversed after Gunner Sarwan Das in 1994 confessed that he had testified against them under pressure from other Army officers.
In December 2000 the Delhi High Court said the Samba Spy case was void in law and turned it over cases to the Army Tribunal for final ruling. (ANI)
