Kuala Lumpur, May 26(ANI): Malaysian India Congress (MIC) Deputy President G. Palanivel has described the rising number of divorces in the Indian community as worrying.
Palanivel said that some couples were applying for divorce after less than a year of marriage, which is leading to many social problems in the country.
He further said that married couples must realise that the key to sustaining a long and happy marriage were mutual understanding, cooperation and adjustment, and for a marriage to succeed, both husband and wife must be committed to its success, The Star reports.
Palanivel also called on Indian religious and social organisations to work together to find a way to reduce the divorces issues among the community. (ANI)
