NEW YORK - A group of amateur sky watchers have spotted the X-37B mini-space plane, despite US Air Force’s efforts to keep the whereabouts and the actual purpose of the spy plane a secret.

The space plane has been shrouded in mystery since it was launched into orbit April 22.

And according to a report on Space.com, the vast network of volunteer eyes on the sky believes one of its members got a glimpse of the secret aircraft.

“One of our North American members got a brief view of what was suspected to be the space plane under somewhat difficult circumstances before it was no longer visible in the evening sky from the United States,” the New York Daily News quoted Gary Roberts, considered a pioneer in tracking satellites and spacecrafts, as saying.

Roberts added that those tracking the X-37B have “absolute confidence” in their sighting.

Now, sky-watchers want to find out if the plane is emitting radio signals.

“As long as there are missions with little or no information. I personally will be interested in the challenge of finding them,” said Roberts.(ANI)
