India,Turkmenistan ready to increase trade volumes

New Delhi, May 26 (ANI): India and Turkmenistan have agreed to extend cultural exchange programmes and increase trade volumes.
A joint statement issued after the visit of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that both sides exchanged views on bilateral, regional and global issues.
Stating that relations between India and Turkmenistan had in historical roots, both sides said that the Cultural Exchange Programme would facilitate a bilateral exchange of cultural, educational troupes.
It was agreed that joint research studies on common historical heritage and developing the historical sites would be encouraged.
President Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh also welcomed the signing of the trade and economic cooperation agreement and hoped it would encourage enhanced economic ngagement. (ANI)
