NEW DELHI - Mock drills were carried out by Delhi Police in two busy markets of south Delhi Thursday, officials said.

The drills were carried out at New Friends Colony and Greater Kailash-II.

According to police, the mock drills were conducted to check the preparedness of security agencies in case of a terrorist attack.

New Friends Colony witnessed the first drill around 12.30 p.m. The drill followed a “bomb blast” in a community centre.

Around 2.30 p.m., another exercise was carried in GK-II.

“These were regular exercises which we carry out from time to time,” a Delhi Police spokesman said.
