20pc parents regret the names they chose for their babies

New York, May 13 (ANI): A survey has revealed that at least one in five sets of parents regrets the names they chose for their babies.
The survey, which was sponsored by Faye Mingo of the parenting club Bounty, found out that one in five parents has second thoughts on the name they so carefully chose for their baby, a study in Britain found.
Some regret because they chose popular or quirky names that wore off, and some chose family names just to “keep the peace”.
Many of the 3,000 parents surveyed said they wish they’d picked a less popular name, while one in 10 say they chose a quirky moniker only to have the novelty quickly wear off.
“Today’s baby name trends move very quickly, so names that seem relatively unusual and quirky can quickly become mainstream and common in the classroom,” The New York Daily News quoted said Faye Mingo as telling the Sun.
The five most regretted boys’ names in the British survey were William, Oliver, Jack, Alfie and Thomas - some of the country’s most popular names, according to The Sun. For girls, the top unfortunate names were Chloe, Ruby, Olivia, Emily and Grace. (ANI)
