GandhiNagar, May 10 (ANI): Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Pravin Togadia on Monday alleged that he was being victimized for belonging to the Hindu community.
“My crime is that I am Hindu. If my name had been Hussain, the SIT would not have summoned me, they wouldn’t have been ready to file cases against me. The innocent Hindus of Gujarat are being targeted through the SIT,” said Togadia.
Togadia also threatened to act democratically against those who are targeting the innocent Hindus of Gujarat, like him.
“Both Zakia Jafri and Teesta Setalvad have complained against me. I will let you know within a few days what are appropriate measures. I will give them democratic answer who have targeted the innocent Hindus of Gujarat,” Togadia said.
On Monday, Togadia appeared before the Supreme Court-appointed Special Investigation Team (SIT) at Gandhi Nagar. The team is probing the 2002 Gujarat riot cases.
Earlier, the team had also questioned Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi regarding his role in the 2002 Gujarat riots.
The firebrand leader was first summoned on April 3, but he had expressed his inability to attend as he was then touring northern parts of the country. (ANI)
