IAF helps to evacuate injured policeman after J-K terrorist encounter

NEW DELHI - The Indian Air Foce (IAF) on Saturday successfully evacuated an injured senior head constable from Khor village in the Riasi Valley of Jammu and Kashmir region after a terrorist encounter.

An IAF press release said that the evacuation was effected despite constraints of dusk hours.

A Chetak aircraft was used for the for evacuation.

Wing Commander S Chaturvedi, the captain of the aircraft and an experienced pilot decided to hover over the roof of an abandoned house while the co-pilot, Squadron Leader H S Cheema skillfully slithered down to pick up the injured police personnel.

He was then carried to Jammu where he was handed over to the Civil Hospital for urgent medical attention. (ANI)
