Headscarf controversy in Kerala School

NEW DELHI - The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has written to the Believers Church English Medium School, Gurupuram Avalookkunnu, Alappuzha, Kerala enquiring from them the veracity of the news report of the exit from the school of a Muslim girl over headscarf.
The letter from the Board states that such action is prima facie a violation of Affiliation Bye-Laws of the Board. The letter also says that before the Board takes further appropriate action, the school is directed to give its comments on the issue mentioned in the article.
The school has been asked to give its immediate comments.
The article in the Hindu mentioned that the school has suddenly issued a Transfer Certificate to a female Muslim student, who was about to go on to class X allegedly because she wore a headscarf o school according to her religious custom. (ANI)
