NEW YORK - Former Pakistan President General Pervez Musharraf still harbours dreams of becoming Pakistan’s President once again.

Chatting with an Arab magazine reporter while sipping tea with his cronies at an expensive Russian tea stall here, Musharraf expressed said he still had the capability to pull the country out of trouble.

The Nation quoted Musharraf, as saying, if the people want, he has no qualms about standing president once again.

Musharraf , who is currently on a tour of the US, said he is hopeful about meeting President Barack Obama during his visit.

He made it clear that he would return to Pakistan if he garners sufficient support.

But with numerous pending cases against him in various courts across Pakistan and the opposition, particularly the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), pushing for his high treason trial, the former general’s return seems to be remote .

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has reportedly accepted Musharraf’s application to register his new political party, which is named the All Pakistan Muslim League (APML). (ANI)
