Allahabad High Court Bans JCB Machines

ALLAHABAD, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The Ganga Yamuna riverbeds witnessed a violation of law led down by the Indian Government which prevents the use of JCB machines which were employed for sand mining. In the wake of the issue, the Allahabad High Court has gone ahead to impose a ban on any and all usage of JCB (Joseph Cyril Bamford) machines for sand mining. As a matter of fact a recent discussion had a sum of Rs.305.34 crore proposal which was approved in accordance to the Ganges project that was formally acknowledged by the Allahabad High Court.
Moving on the same line the Allahabad High Court has issued strict orders to make sure that the JCB machines are not used for any kind of sand mining purposes down at the river beds of Yamuna and Ganga converges in the district of Kaushambi and Allahabad. Besides the orders, the Allahabad High Court had also gone ahead to take all sand mining workers under custody. Justice KN Pandey and Justice Sunil Ambawani passed the order to stop all usage of all JCB machines in accordance to a PIL (Public Interest Litigation) that was filed in the Allahabad High Court by PUCL (Peoples Union for Civil Liberties).
The Petition placed in front of Allahabad High Court said that a large number of sand mining contractors were using the JCB machines and other such heavy equipments which is a major moving violation in accordance to the Government laws. It was also told that the contractors have gone ahead to hire the local fishermen to fall in as crew for sand mining. As following that the Division Bench issued orders from the Allahabad High Court stating that severe action shall be taken if any contractor is reported to use the JCB machine for the sand mining purposes.
