Socialist Unity Centre of India protests against price rise in Orissa

BHUBANESHWAR - Socialist Unity Centre of India (communist party) (SUCI) held a protest rally on Saturday here against the price rise of essential commodities to highlight the common man’s plight in the wake of growing cost of living everywhere.
Large number of people from different parts of the State converged here to participate in the rally.
“Around five thousand people of the state have come in this scorching sun from different parts of the State and their main demand is against price hike and against petrol, diesel and bus fare hike. This is the main issue and particularly against the presently electricity cut in the state and high in the electricity tariff,” said Dhurajti Das, State Secretary (SUCI).
People protested against the rise in prices of essential commodities as well as petrol, diesel and consequent bus fare in the state.
“Yes we are continuing this movement not only in Orissa, this is all India party and we are organising movements in every State from the grassroot level, local level, district level and to the state level. We will also be organising an all India national level movement on this coming 27th and we are organising all India general strike throughout India and will continue this movement in all the states at the grassroot level,” said Bishnu Das, a member SUCI.
The organisers said they would organise such rallies all over the country on April 27th April. (ANI)
