Nepal Promotes Gay Marriages

KATHMANDU, Nepal, (GaeaTimes.com)- Nepal which was one of the most prominent countries to raise its voice against gay relations way back in 2007 is now promoting gay marriages. As a matter of fact, Nepal regarded homosexuality to be a crime and offenders were to face severe punishment which included serving two years behind the bars. Not only did the ordeal stop here, but Nepal witnessed several gay harassment issues in public places that made the country a center of criticisms. Nepal is now on its way to redeem itself as gay weddings are being promoted in the Everest.
Nepal’s Tourism Minister Sharat Singh Bhandari told the media that the country is looking forward to change the history and do what is best for one and all. The Minister also said that Nepal is now a new republic which only focuses upon benevolence. Reportedly,Nepal shall be hosting the first Asian Symposium on Gay and Lesbian Tourism to be held in the capital city Kathmandu in the month of June. A same-sex marriage law is also in its way to receive the final approval from the Supreme Court after it ruled out that the government should take all measures to safeguard the rights of homosexual individuals in Nepal.
In this regards Mr. Pant’s contribution is notable. Mr. Pant was the one who had gone ahead to form Blue Diamond Society which campaigns for the protection of gay rights and has long member following. Nepal Tourism ministry is promoting same-sex marriages in the Everest which shall have elephant safaris arranged for all gay honeymooners. Mr. Pant told the media that Nepal is setting up an example against all other nations where gay marriages are considered to be a crime punishable by law.
