HIV-positive boy killed in Imphal

IMPHAL - Hundreds of representatives of Non-Governmental Organizations working in the field of HIV/AIDS took out a mass rally here on Tuesday to protest against the brutal killing of a HIV-positive boy.
Sanjenbam German alias Noinoisana was found brutally killed on April 7 at Malom Terakhong in Bishnupur district of the state.
The protestors demanded punishment fir the murderers as well as framing of a state policy to protect the rights of children living with HIV/AIDS.
Organised under the aegis of Drug and AIDS Workers, Manipur, the rally was flagged off from Hao ground, Singjamei, and concluded at MDU Hall where a public meeting was held.
“Not only Noinoisana, who is dead, but there are also several other children which we workers have been interacting with. Though they have not been killed, they have been tortured by different ways of discrimination and stigmatization … so we appeal to the government to take up immediate measures,” said L Deepak Singh, President of MNP+, a NGO.
The protestors said that they would launch various intense agitations if their demands were not met by April 30. (ANI)
