NEW DELHI - A 502-member team of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Wednesday took over the task of securing the Mumbai Port.

According to Rahul Asthana, chairman of Mumbai Port Trust (MbPT), the changed parameters of security necessitated the demand for a professional security organisation.

The CISF which is the primary industrial security force in the country looks after the security requirements of various industries such as oil, power, minerals, steel and airports apart from national monuments and VIP security.
