GUWAHATI - Incessant rainfall in Assam for the past couple of days has disrupted normal life.

The weather has also played spoilsport in the ongoing weeklong Rangoli Bihu festivities causing many celebrations across the city to mellow down due to the downpour.

“It is raining here since the past ten to fifteen days. It is very cold here. In other cities like Delhi, Mumbai the temperature has rise to 42 degree Celsius. But here it is very cold. Weather is bad,” said Pappu Kumar Roy, a local.

The locals have blamed the drainage system since the narrow drains are insufficient to clear the flooded streets.

The residents also felt that plastic waste thrown over the roads has resulted is the clogging of the drains. (ANI)
