Awan meets Azad, discusses means for cooperation in population welfare realm

NEW DELHI - Pakistan’s Population Welfare Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan met Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Monday and the duo discussed various ways and means for cooperation between the two countries in the realm of population welfare.

Awan, who is on a five-day visit to India later accompanied by Azad, met Congress President Sonia Gandhi at her residence.

She along with Pakistani cricketer Sohail Tanveer will attend the wedding reception of ace tennis sensation Sania Mirza and Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik.

Earlier on Wednesday, Awan had said Malik and Mirza would be declared as brand ambassadors of Pakistan’s Population Welfare Ministry. (ANI)
