NEW DELHI - Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama on Friday said the spirit, compassion and dedication of Mother Theresa to serve poorest of the poor would continue to lead human community.

Delivering lecture on the occasion of 3rd Mother Teresa Memorial symposium at the Indira Gandhi National Open University, the Dalai Lama recalled his association with Mother Theresa.

“In Calcutta, I am really very much impressed. I found, Mother Teresa is physically no longer there but her spirit, her compassion, her dedication to serve people, particularly poor is very much there,” said the Dalai Lama.

In the address, he highlighted the need for compassion in everyday life.

“I often tell people; Mother Teresa is one of the examples, one individual compassionate person. Compassion brings inner strength, compassion brings self-confidence. With that the individual can make effective contribution for human brothers and sisters,” said the Dalai Lama. (ANI)
