Vice President greets nation ahead of Baisakhi

NEW DELHI - Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari today greeted the people for the harvest festival of Baisakhi.
In his message he said that the rituals and the colourful festivities associated with this festival to transcend all socio-economic barriers and unite one and all.
“I extend my warm greetings and good wishes to the people of our country on the joyous and auspicious occasion of Baisakhi.
“Celebrated with the mood of rejoicing and gaiety in various parts of the country, this festival mark the beginning of the New Year. The rituals and the colourful inspire us to transcend all barriers and unite us in a common brotherhood,” he added.
Baisakhi holds special significance for the Sikhs as this day also marks the birth anniversary of the “Khalsa Panth” or the Sikh order.
The Panth was established in 1699 by Guru Gobind Singh on Baisakhi Day. (ANI)
