Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav will attend today’s meeting along with Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leader Prakash Karat, Communist Party of India (CPI) leader A B Bardhan and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav.

Several other leaders of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Dravida Kazhagam (AIADMK), Telugu Desam Party, Biju Janata Dal, Rashtriya Lok Dal, Indian National Lok Dal, Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S), Forward Bloc and Revolutionary Socialist Party are also expected to take part in the meeting.

It has been reported that these parties may even call a shutdown in the last week of April and launch a nationwide protest against the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government’s failure to keep a check on the rising prices of essential commodities. (ANI)
