LATEHAR - The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has launched a ‘civic action programme’ in the far-flung Maoist-infested areas of Latehar District in Jharkhand.
Under the programme, security personnel distribute sewing machines and clothes to tribal women.
The Force would also train them with skills so that they may earn a living out of it.
As part of the programme the force also opened schools and distributed study material children.
Jwans of the CRPF have also distributed sports equipments like cycles, footballs, and basketballs for their overall development to children.
People in remote areas are supplied with water tanks to store clean drinking water.
The CRPF aims at educating the people about the evils of the Maoist movement and intends to stop people from joining the Maoists.
They are also hopeful that those who have deviated towards the Maoist will rejoin the mainstream.
“We want to send the message across that the Naxal activities that the people are involved in don’t help them. We want that they should motivate young boys in their area to stay away from the Naxals and persuade them to comeback to the mainstream,” said Sumer Singh, Commander of the 134 Battalion of the CRPF.
“They are defying their state, society and the country. They should understand that any agency working against the government would never survive. It will end for sure,” he added. By Girija Shankar Ojha (ANI)
