J-K police bust militant hideouts in Srinagar

SRINAGAR - The Jammu and Kashmir police on Thursday busted a militant hideout in Khag area of the state’s Budgam district and recovered a major haul of arms and ammunition.

Acting on a specific information, the police launched an extensive search operation about the presence of militants in the higher reaches of village Kokerbugh in Khag.

During the search operation, police busted a hideout of militants and recovered huge quantity of arms, ammunition and communication equipment. The recovered arms and ammunition include AK 47 and AK 74 rifles, RPG’s, Rifle grenades, UBGL, Pistols and ammunition of different kinds.

Police also recovered bags of rice, flour, milk powder and other eatables from the said hideout which had been kept there as militant logistics.

The search operation is still going on to trace out the possible militant movement in the area. (ANI)
