MELBOURNE - An Aussie couple will be charged with theft-by-finding for failing to return over 100,000 dollars stuffed in a suitcase, they picked up for a pittance from a Salvation Army store, a leading Australian Daily has reported.

According to the Herald Sun, cops say a 43-year-old man and 34-year-old woman from Berwick will have to appear before a court to face the charge, reports the Daily Telegraph.

The suitcase owners had mistakenly donated it to the Salvo store at Beaconsfield, in Melbourne’s outer east.

But it was too late when the couple realized their mistake; when the man approached the store staff and pleaded them to find the case he was told it had been sold two days earlier.

The cash was apparently the couple’s life savings.

Police say they interrogated a couple about the cash, and almost the entire amount was recovered. (ANI)
