SHIMLA - A weeklong art camp, organised by the National Award winner artistes, concluded here on Monday.

Artistes from different parts of the country participated in the camp that enabled them to work together under one roof. “We are from different parts of India having different culture and tradition. We never got such an opportunity to work together, here we got the opportunity to come together and work in a refined way,” said Kishore Kumar Dass, an Assamese artiste.

The paintings of the award-winning artistes were exhibited on the final day at the camp.

“The local artists, who came here for the camp also interacted with us,” he added.

Moreover, the artistes expressed their concern on environmental issues through their art during the camp.

They said that the camp helped them to exchange a wide range of views, learn about the environment and also the local cultural heritage.

“It is an opportunity for the local people, that they can see lots of works, senior painters, national awardees, are working on the same platform. They are inspired. They have the opportunity to see how the artistes are making the creations,” said Ashok Tewari, oen of the artistes on the last day.
