“India is emerging as one of the leading markets for luxury brands. People are very well aware…compared to other countries, they are very well aware about the trends. They have got that spending power and they don’t hesitate. That attitude is coming in with the younger generation especially, because they are more fond of brands and they understand the trends,” said Praneeta Kochhar, Director, Luxury Lifestyle Showcase (LLS).
Buyers feel that Indians are becoming more aware about luxury brands because they have started travellling more.
“Indians have started buying a bit and they want to also spend nicely. They want to wear branded things and all. The people are becoming very conscious of all the brands…the awareness is there. Earlier, it wasn’t there but because we people are travelling so much, with travelling we come to know about the brands and then you also want to wear them. When they are available in India, so naturally, you would love to wear them,” said Rajni Bector, Founder and Director of the Cremica Group.
