SRINAGAR - Terrorists triggered off an explosive device in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district, damaging two to three feet of railway track on the Qazigund-Baramulla route.
No casualties were reported in the blast that took place on Thursday night, around 40 kilometers from Srinagar.
It has been reported that movement of other trains running on the same route have been affected by the blast.
“Around 10 p.m. last evening (on Thursday), militants carried out an IED blast blowing off two to three meters of the rail track at Gulbugh village near Kakapora town of Pulwama district,” said a senior police official.
“Restoration work started this morning and rail traffic would resume soon,” he added.
This 18-kilometre line is the valley’s link to Srinagar and the other important places in the region. (ANI)
