Dikshit, Reddy to flag off Metro train at Inderlok-Mundka corridor

NEW DELHI - Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and Union Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy will inaugurate the movement of a Delhi Metro train along the Inderlok-Mundka corridor on Friday.
” They will flag it off and may travel on it till Paschim Vihar. The line will be opened to the public from 6 am on Saturday,” said a Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) spokesperson.
With the opening of this 15.1 kilometer corridor, the Delhi Metro will add fifth line to its vast expanding network. This would be the country’s first standard gauge Metro corridor.
This line is expected to benefit over a lakh people putting up in west and northwest Delhi.
The decks for the inauguration of the line were cleared on Wednesday when the Commissioner for Metro Railway Safety, R K Kardam, gave his official nod for the inauguration.
The line will pass through 14 stations namely Inderlok, Ashok Park Main, Punjabi Bagh East, Shivaji Park, Madipur, Paschim Vihar East, Paschim Vihar West, Peera Garhi, Udyog Nagar, Surajmal Stadium, Nangloi, Nangloi Railway station, Rajdhani Park and Mundka.
The DMRC has decided on running trains in a frequency of six minutes during peak hours on this route. (ANI)
