Home Ministry sanctions 481 posts for CISF

NEW DELHI - Union Home Ministry has sanctioned 481 posts to expand the strength of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at five public sector undertakings.

Union Home Minister P Chidambaram said in the monthly report card of his ministry : ” 481 posts have been created for augmenting the strength of CISF at five PSUs and establishments.”

Home Ministry sanctioned 27 posts for the Mejia Thermal Power Station, Mejia (Fire Wing), West Bengal, 53 posts for Raichur Thermal Power Station, Raichur (Fire Wing), Karnataka, and 44 posts for Kahalgaon Super Thermal Power Station, Kahalgaon (Fire wing), Bihar.

The CISF would get 272 new posts for the Neyveli Lignite Corporation, Neyveli (Fire Wing), Tamil Nadu and 85 posts were sanctioned Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, Visakhapatnam (Fire Wing), Andhra Pradesh.

Chidambaram also informed that in order to strengthen the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), 252 new posts were sanctioned.

Provisional sanction was issued to NCB for purchase of surveillance equipment at a cost of Rs. 2.52 crore and weaponry at a cost of Rs. 0.20 crore, Chidambaram added. (ANI)
