India-Pakistan Border Guards meet to resolve border related issues

WAGAH - A Pakistan Ranger delegation led by Major General Mohammed Yaqub Khan, Director General, Pakistan Rangers, today arrived here to participate in the four-day biannual meeting with India’s Border Security Force.

Mohammad Aqil, Deputy Inspector General, BSF, border range, received the delegation at Wagah - Attari joint check post.

Both the Border Guards would discuss matters relating to border management and sort out the problems relating to border crimes; surge in incidents of drug-smuggling and counterfeit currency notes, infiltration bids and other various trans-border problems.

Besides, officials from the border guards of India and Pakistan the representatives of Narcotics control Bureau, Survey of India and PWD will also attend the meet.

Since the Partition, the border guards have been meeting on various levels to sort out problems erupting on different occasions. However, it’s been noticed that the incidents of infiltration and smuggling have been recurring time and again from the Pakistani side.

According to Mohammed Yaqub Khan, We, in this high-level meeting, would try to resolve the various issues.

However, Khan refuted that the smuggling and infiltration in to Indian Territory has been initiated by Pakistan.
