New Delhi, Mar 26(ANI): Scores of people staged a sit-in demonstration in the national capital on Friday, demanding a judicial probe into the high profile ‘Batla House encounter’ of 2008.

Holding placards reading ‘We want justice’, and others, scores of residents of Batla House locality gathered in front of the Jama Masjid and staged a demonstration.

Protestors termed the shoot-out as fake and demanded a judicial probe to unearth the truth.

Protestors also slammed the Human Rights Commission’s report that gave a clean chit to the police.

“The Human Rights Commission has filed its report and justified the encounter without scrutinizing the facts. The officials didn’t visit the site and they filed the report on the basis of police report…we have faith in judiciary and we want an impartial judicial inquiry. Then only can we come to know what is right and what is wrong,” said Khalid, a protestor.

The post-mortem reports of the two suspected militants killed in the encounter, obtained by a Jamia Milia University student, have also raised many questions.

The four-page autopsy reports of the suspects reveal that they had suffered injuries by a blunt object apart from gunshot wounds. (ANI)
