LAHORE - A suspended District Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Lahore Police, Imran Babar Jameel, has described President Asif Ali Zardari better than the police establishment, which according to him had framed him in a false case.

Calling Zardari his ‘good friend’, Jameel said he used to share cigarettes with him when he escorted the President from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital to the Attock Jail.

“I shared cigarettes with Zardari who used to light them. Zardari is better than the police establishment,” The Daily Times quoted Jameel, as saying.

Earlier, in a statement before the Additional Judge Zawwar Ahmed, Jameel blamed senior officials of threatening him, and said he was under “great pressure” to release the dacoits and was even threatened to be killed if he did not comply.

Jameel said he would claim damages worth 100 million rupees against the police high-ups for ‘levelling false accusations’ against him. (ANI)
