LUCKNOW - The Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) on Wednesday sacked its Karnataka unit spokesperson, Y N Sharma, over the multicrore garland controversy surrounding party chief Mayawati.
The decision on Sharma has been taken for speaking to news channels regarding the cash garland.
He is the first casualty in the latest controversy that has hit Mayawati.
Sharma alleged that he was being made a scapegoat.
“I have not gone beyond my limit. I was the only person who reacted to media. I defended the matter in the favour of the party,” Sharma said.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Public Works Department Minister Naseemuddin Siddiqui said henceforth BSP would garland Mayawati with currency notes.
“Wherever she goes, she will henceforth be greeted with garland of notes and not with garland of flowers,” Siddiqui said.(ANI)
