LAHORE - The Pakistan Interior Ministry is investigating information provided by British intelligence officials on alleged terrorist Rajib Karim’s links with extremist networks in Pakistan.
Intelligence officials arrested Rajib Karim, who is of Bangladeshi origin and an IT expert, from the British Airways’ (BA) office in Newcastle last month.
According to reports, Karim’s computer allegedly contained encrypted files “showing” he was in contact with terrorists in Pakistan and Yemen.
The Interior Ministry has formed a special team of officials from two intelligence agencies and it is focussing on Karachi and Lahore, “where they have found some strong clues”, The Daily Times reports.
It is also believed that the investigating officers have started scrutinising the information recovered from Karim’s computer.(ANI)
