MUMBAI - At least six labourers were injured here as two nearby buildings that were under-renovation by the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) collapsed.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Sanjay Mohite said, “Two three-storied buildings, one number 38 and other numbering 40, they collapsed completely… Most of the labourers in the building were able to rush out before the building collapsed. We have been able to rescue two people with the help of fire brigade personnel, police and social workers.”

“Six are injured out of whom one is admitted at J J hospital, while the others are not that severely injured. We don’t know one or two people might be trapped in the debris,” added Mohite.

Sources said the police feared that a few labourers could be trapped under the debris. (ANI)
