LAHORE - Former Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri has said India and Pakistan could end up waging a war against each other if the water crisis between both countries is not paid due attention to.
Interacting with media persons during a press conference here, Kasuri described the long pending water sharing issues between India and Pakistan as a ’sensitive issue’, and urged New Delhi to pay immediate attention towards it.
He also expressed concerns over Dr. Manmohan Singh’s recent visit to Saudi Arabia, The Daily Times reports.
Criticising the Gilani government for its laid back attitude, Kasuri said that it was the duty of the government to have sent a special convoy to Saudi Arabia to discuss the Kashmir issue before Dr. Singh’s visit.
He also rejected the government’s policy of holding negotiations with India, saying : “Pakistan should avoid begging and try to hold talks at an equal level on the Kashmir issue.” (ANI)
