MELBOURNE - Demand for a product described as “botox in a bottle”, which claims to have the ability to reduce wrinkles in 90 seconds, has gone up after women came to know about it.

The application mimics the effects of the South-East Asian temple viper’s venom, freezing facial muscles to smooth out wrinkles without the use of needles.

Trials reportedly have shown that 90 seconds after applying the serum, trading under the name Glamoxy, wrinkles are less noticeable, with a 52 percent reduction within 28 days.

Despite its radical effects on the skin, the makers of Glamoxy Rodial say it is safe enough to be used twice a day.

Since it was launched in Britain, Glamoxy’s online suppliers have been overrun with orders from Australia, with more than 500 women ordering the product online within weeks of it launching overseas.

At a cost of roughly 225 dollars for 25ml, it seems women are prepared to pay top dollar to keep age at bay.

Ceren Cipa, who was born in Britain, but is now Melbourne-based, heard about Glamoxy from her friends back home.

When she couldn’t find it in Melbourne stores, she went online to order it.

“It costs a fortune - the shipping alone is 30 dollars - but it’s worth it. I use it sparingly - for special occasions,” News.com.au quoted her as saying.

“I love skincare. It’s not the most expensive product I’ve bought over the years. But I’m willing to pay for something that works.

“And I don’t like the idea of Botox. I just cannot face the idea of injecting poison into my face.

“I think a lot of women will pay for a miracle cream that helps them avoid doing something as invasive as Botox,” she added. (ANI)
