JAMMU - Indian Army Chief Gen. Deepak Kapur Wednesday reviewed the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir at a meeting in Udhampur, the headquarters of the Northern Command.

He was briefed in detail about the situation on the Line of Control (LoC), which has witnessed increased infiltration bids from the other side in the past few months, and also about the renewed activity of militants in the Kashmir Valley.

Kapur has had a long association with Jammu and Kashmir and headed the Northern Command prior to moving to Delhi, first as the army’s vice chief and then as the chief of army staff.
