Indian Railways to induct E-ticket based mobile vans

NEW DELHI - Minister for Railways Ms. Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday announced extension of scope of ‘Mushkil-Aasan’ scheme.

Presenting the Railway Budget for 2010-11 in Parliament Ms. Mamta said e-ticket based mobile vans will be inducted for issuing reservation tickets in Government medical college hospitals, High Courts, District Courts, University campuses, IT hubs, IITs and IIMs. She said to give more facilities to the common people.

She said Railways also proposes to open ticket centres at district headquarters and village panchayats with infrastructure support from local Government/semi-Government authorities and private organizations.

Mamta also said that E-ticketing will cost less with the reduction of service charge being reduced. (ANI)
