GUWAHATI - United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) vice chairman Pradeep Gogoi was on Tuesday granted bail by a Guwahati court on all the six TADA cases registered against him.

Gogoi will be released from jail after security payment is done.

Senior ULFA leader Mithinga Daimary has also been granted bail by the court.

The designated TADA court had earlier on February 19 granted bail to Gogoi in the three cases registered against him.

The court had fixed February 23 as the date for passing the orders on the bail applications of Gogoi in three other Tada cases registered against him and one Tada case registered against ULFA central executive member Mithinga Daimary.

Earlier, the state government had virtually paved the way for the ULFA duo getting bail by stating in court that it has no objection to their release.

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi had on Friday (February 19) said that he wanted the talk amid a congenial atmosphere and with dignity. But he refused to divulge these in detail.

Notably, several other top ULFA leaders have been languishing in jail. These include Arabinda Rajkhowa, Raju Baruah, Sasha Choudhury, Chitrabon Hazarika, Pranati Deka and Bhimkanta Buragohain. (ANI)
