NEVADA - “First Annual Inner-Faith Night” of prestigious University of Nevada-Reno (UNR), to be held on March three, will see major religious groups coming together in prayer and dialogue.
According to coordinators of this event, UNR Unity Commissioner Maggie Overmoen and religious statesman Rajan Zed, its purpose is to promote trust, mutual loyalty, culture of tolerance, and life of truthfulness; despite our seriously different traditions. They plan to make it an annual tradition where students, area clergy belonging to various religions and denominations, and civic and educational leaders can come together and seek unity that celebrates diversity.
This unity celebration will include prayers, music, and dialogue in Christian (various denominations), Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Jew, Baha’i, Native American and Unitarian Universalist traditions. Some area civic and educational leaders are also expected to participate besides students, clergy and others. UNR Unity Commission and Inner-Faith Council are co-sponsors. (ANI)
